Performing at Marije Nederveen's exhibition opening at Gustavson
When a friend of mine passed on my name to Marije Nederveen and I was asked to perform at her exhibition opening, I gladly said yes! It marked a step up in my career as a contemporary cellist, as it was the first time I improvised live in front of an audience. I brought with me my NS Design 5-string electric cello.
Marije had a beautiful exhibition of photographs from her travels, and she performed 6 of her poems. I played during 3 intervals, amplified through a P.A. in the restaurant.
The exhibition was held at Gustavson in the Westerpark area of Amsterdam, a temporary pop-up cultural hub open until September 2016.
