Performing with Sofia Dragt for Art Rocks Finale at Paradiso

I performed with Sofia Dragt at the finals of Art Rocks 2018 competition at Paradiso.

Art Rocks is a contest that combines art and music. The musicians have to compose a piece to one of the 50+ artworks. The best soundtracks battle it out in the final of the music competition. The winning act, voted by the jury wins €1000.

We performed Sofia’s composition Blameless, a song inspired by the artwork Meisje met haar in het water, by Co Westerik with myself on cello, Sander Huting on guitar and Terry Bloeme on electronic drums (SPD).

Here is the video clip to the song, as a prize from winning the semi-final, filmed by VERS TV.

Finalists included Colin Mooijman with band // Sofia Dragt // Jezekiah // PsySo // Teddy Macrander // KUZKO // Romy & Daan // Tricycle and the winner was KUZKO! There were also guest performances by Blaudzun en Yung Nnelg (who I recorded at Red Bull Studios, read that blog post here). The hosts for the evening were Tamar Tieleman, Waldo Volmer, Heske ten Cate and Luuk Heeze.
